About

Annals of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery is the scientific journal of the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons.

ISSN 1453-6587

In 1996 the Plastic Surgery Discipline and the microsurgical research nucleus of the Clinical Emergency Hospital Bucharest published a Journal under the name of « Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery ». The next year the name of the Journal was changed in « Annals of Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Microsurgery » - Journal the Plastic Surgery Discipline and the microsurgical research nucleus of the Clinical Emergency Hospital Bucharest with ISSN : 1453 – 6587 and the papers published were from Romanian and foreign authors with topics mostly from plastic surgery and reconstructive microsurgery specialty, but also aesthetic surgery and the other surgical specialties connected to plastic surgery such as general surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, bacteriology, emergency care. etc.

The Journal was addressing mainly the surgeons in plastic surgery and reconstructive microsurgery specialty, but also general surgeons, orthopedists, ENT surgeons, vascular surgeons, the residents in these specialties and not in the last line to medical students. The papers of the Journal were in these times in Romanian and English and all Romanian papers had also an English abstract.

Since 2005 all the papers published in the Journal were, regardless of the author's nationality, in English (only one paper was in French from a French team of surgeons) and the Journal became the official Journal of the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons.

From the beginning of this Journal till the present day the Editor has been Prof. Ioan Lascar and the editorial secretary has been Dr. Serban Popescu.

In our days the journal has four issues each year, a web page and represents the official Journal of the Romanian Association of Plastic Surgeons, an association which is gathering the plastic surgeons from Romania and aims the promotion of plastic surgery on local and international levels.

The international relations were enlarged by contacting some well known plastic surgeons from abroad whom agreed to be part of the International Board.
